UPDATED: Italian MP to MFA: How can Ali Al-Arab and Ahmed Al-Malali avoid capital punishment?

On 13 June 2019, Italian journalist, Member of Parliament, and former president of Italy’s Chamber of Deputies Laura Boldrini put forward a parliamentary question in Italy’s Foreign Affairs Committee, asking the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation about the situation of Bahrainis Ali AlArab and Ahmed AlMalali. AlArab and AlMalali were arrested and tortured until they signed a confess that was used to sentence them to death. In her question, Boldrini urged Italy’s government to take immediate action in order to assist both AlMalali and AlArab.
