 Rights Groups Call for Rehabilitation for Torture Victims in Bahrain

ADHRB joined a coalition of NGOs in sending a letter to the King of Bahrain asking for the government to provide victims of torture with physical and psychological rehabilitation.

The Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI), established by the Bahrain government following the 2011 uprising, found that government security forces maintained “a deliberate practice of mistreatment” of detainees and protesters during the 2011 uprising. The BICI also documented cases of torture, for which victims have yet to receive any form of rehabilitation.
